Mount Rainier, Washington: Photos & Trip Report
» mount rainier national park
While it was only late autumn at lower elevations, it was full on winter up on the mountain. Everything was covered with a half foot of fresh fluffy snow and people were tracking up the trails with their snowshoes and skis. Much of the roads in the park close in November and I hadn't really made any elaborate plans so I was limited to driving up to Paradise, stopping at the viewpoints, and taking a few short hikes.

The half frozen Narada Falls.

Rainer from Ricksecker Point at sunset. The ranger said the sunset the day before had been really colorful but on this night the sun was blocked by some clouds once it reached the horizon.
