DESCRIPTION:
The mission of Planned Parenthood is to encourage reproductive rights and offer options in family planning.
STUDENT'S ROLE:
Volunteers can participate in a wide range of activities and functions within Planned Parenthood. Clinical volunteers work in the clinical setting and can receive first hand experience with a number of services provided. Administrative volunteers have high staff interaction and contribute to general office work. Volunteers interested in advocacy can assist in campaigning for funds and political support. There are various opportunities in education, especially community oriented sex education and family planning programs. This includes a new program consisting of education sessions in area high schools to address issues concerning parenthood, family planning, and safe sex, with the aim of reducing teenage pregnancy. All positions are limited.
TRANSPORTATION:
Outreach vehicle, AATA, or your own car (or bike).
PREREQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS:
All positions require an interest in the cause of planned parenthood. Training sessions are provided through Planned Parenthood for most positions.

Training required for most positions.
TIMES:
Dependent upon the placement activity.
