They are definitely on the list to do. Not sure exactly how I'll pull them off yet though.

I'd start with a little something known in some circles as "All 18s".

Could it be one of those rarer-than-rare cases that calls for the Paragon template?

I'm trying to peg their HD appropriately, actually, the ability scores aren't hard at all. I'm guessing 40 for Balor and 39 for Marilith.

As for paragon, it tends to throw any high level creatures out of wack in AW. It might be entirely appropriate for DF regular stats.

In keeping with Alternate World's rules that demons at those levels of HD are essentially demon lords, 40 and 39 sound quite appropriate. Giving either of them the paragon template would probably rush them to the very pinnacles of demonic power. Ability score wise Balor would probably be equal or greater than Demogorgon, with only his cosmic status keeping him superior.

Does the vicious property really contribute meaningfully at the level Crom's operating at?

It gives him 2d6 extra damage on his warhammer, turning it into a 4d6 base damage weapon. I'm happy.

Hey Kain, I just noticed that your Tharizdun's SR is five points lower than his CR. Was this intentional?

Probably. I've been torn between tying SR to CR and keeping some of them lower than CR so that they aren't effectively 'immune' to spells when interacting with other entities. Depending on my mood when I designed him, I might have gone one way or another. I've yet to even decide if 10+rank+HD or just rank+HD is better for deities.

Most of the time just HD alone is going to set it extremely high compared to its CR. Adding rank, let alone rank + 10, is going to give you that effectively immune status you are trying to avoid.

Well, with actual rank, one's effective HD is really HD+rank. CR ideally is going to fall somewhere between 75-80% of that total.

So I'm more concerned with Thor having an appropriate SR for interactions with Mystra. (Or some other deity) Likely as not, that will make it low for interactions with a PC party. (Because they will have to be significantly higher level than Mystra to match her power and handle Thor)

On the other hand, I don't like how SR became standard as an 'Magic Armor Class'. Magic might roll off drow as a matter of flavor, but it never rolled off Thor.

But did it ever not roll off Thor?

By the way, Kain, what are the base creatures for Ashetha and Eosha?

Ah. Pictures threw me off. Didn't look anything like the lamias I've seen in D&D. Thanks

If you look up a noble lamia (for instance, the Expedition to the Demonweb Pits art gallery at wizards) you'll see the pic is quite close.

The other one is a sphinx, because it is hard to find a hot tauric lion woman online.

Fair enough.

Are those six his core harem, with most others either not notable enough to stat? Or do you see those six as the only real constants?

Does Belial have a similar harem?

Also, Atropus... CR 7? Really? Yes, its Hide sucks, but I think it's other stats more than make up for it.

Just six sample powerful members, actually. The actual entire harem would consist of hundreds of beings, many lacking in power.

Does Belial have a similar harem?

No doubt, although I've not given it a lot of mechanical though.

Don't tell me you lost your sense of humor on your two year hiatus from here. Atropus' stats are a mechanical joke. There is no level at which he is a meaningful challenge without being a one round TPK.

Don't tell me you lost the ability to tell time while I was on hiatus. :P Only been gone about a half-year, Kain. That said, it really does seem like sarcasm is hard to transmit over the net. I thought the Hide comment would have tipped you off.

I've been downgraded to minion? I thought that was William's job.

William is your minion. You are mine. (But not in 4e terms)
