Background on the Monster Hunting Marionette:
I wasn’t always made of wood. I was once a dashing officer of His Majesty’s Calvary, of course that was back when we where fighting old Bonaparte. I was even in love once her name was Caroline. We were to be married, but a vile sorcerer who coveted her for himself turned her into a living marionette bound with magic strings so that he could possess and control her for all time.

I tracked him and his villainous carnival all across Europe. I finally caught up to him outside of Venice. I thought I had him cornered, but then rather then undoing the spell to release my love he turned me into a marionette as well. Before he could bind me with his magic strings, I ran him through with my saber. Unfortunately he fell into a nearby oil lamp lighting the tent ablaze. I tried to free Caroline, but she was trapped by her strings unable to move and she perished in the flames.

The sorcerer’s death did not break the spell and I have been trapped as a marionette for nearly two hundred years. I have searched long and wide for a cure, but I have found none. Since I seem to be doomed to live this horrible half life, I have vowed to make sure others do not suffer my fate by ridding the world of supernatural evil. I prey on the twisted sorcerers, vampires and demons so that no one else should suffer as I did the day my Caroline was killed. But now I have met some kindred souls to face the long days with, including a young woman who could be my Caroline reborn. I know it is absurd given my condition, but I truly do think I love her and if I could ever find a cure for my condition perhaps I can see if she could care for me as I do for her.

Quote: “You make one crack about being a “real” boy and I’ll cut off you’re hamstrings.”

Roleplaying the Monster Hunting Marionette:
You’re the stereotypical revenge seeking demon hunter, but you’re also a wooden puppet. Your stature and appearance work against you in many ways, and are in stark contrast to the brooding image you try to project. You’re emotions also run the gamut from the maudlin and melancholy to overly valiant and chivalrous, but because of your curse they have a tendency to be ludicrously extreme.
