Background on the Mystic Magician’s Assistant:
My Dad was a Magician and my Mom was a Witch so you could say I’ve got magic in my blood. Dad wasn’t able to do real magic, he was strictly a rabbit in the top hat, nothing up my sleeve type of guy. It was fun when I was little, but my Mom did real magic. Conjuring up the spirits, transmutation of the elements, I mean real magic spells not just card tricks. But then mom died when I was about thirteen, Dad didn’t like to talk about it but I think it had something to do with the dark forces my mother fought against. He made me promise no magic, or at least no real magic.

Then I found my mother’s spell book up in the attic, I know I promised Dad but it was just too tempting especially after I made contact with Mom’s Familiar. The first time I saw him I freaked out, no one else could see him. A strange demonic cat that talked to me, in a voice only I could hear. He was the one who prodded me to explore the dark arts. Little stuff at first floating feathers, lighting candles with a gesture it was neat until it started to turn dark. He wanted me to commit sacrifices and harness the power to open a gateway to another world. I realized he wasn’t a Familiar at all but a Demon trying to break free of a prison that my mother had trapped him in.

I realized it about two seconds too late. He didn’t even come after me, he just left and said he’d be back for me later. Dad was away at a show, so I grabbed my Mom’s spell books and I ran. I hoped that the Demon wouldn’t bother him if I wasn’t around. I left and had a few odd jobs, I tried using magic a few times and each time I did the Demon showed up. So I ran to Las Vegas, the mystic energies that surround this town help me hide my magic from the Demon, plus it was pretty easy to find work as a magician’s assistant. So here I am working for a guy who wouldn’t know real magic if it bit him on his Tuxedo tails. At least until I can figure out a way to defeat the Demon, maybe the Slayer can help me out with that; then I’ll show this town some real magic.

Quote: "Watch me conjure a spirit of Elemental Fire out of my hat, and now for my next trick bilocation"

Roleplaying the Mystic Magician's Assistant:
You’re Dad taught you that misdirection is the key to any good magic trick, what better place to hide your magically talent then by hiding in plain sight next to a “Magician”. It has kept you out of danger, but it is also grates on you’re nerves that your true talents aren’t recognized. You’d like to do more and learn more magic, but until you can find a way to get rid of your Demon doing so would be to dangerous. Maybe your new friends can do something about the Demon, if you can admit why it is after you.
