Background on the Empathic Card Sharp:
I was just a simple guy making my way in this crazy world. Sure I played to my talents and made my way by playing cards. Now I don’t think of using my natural born talents as cheating per say, but some people do. I mean the whole empathy thing doesn’t really work against the top players only the rubes. So if I fleeced some tourists I figured it was no big deal.

I was wrong because someone up there decided to teach me one hell of a lesson. I was playing at this very high stakes game of Texas Holdem with some very unpleasant characters. The pot just kept getting bigger and bigger, some weird stuff to not just the usual cash and kittens. Mystic relics, enchanted items, finally this old blind guy who has been cleaning up all night throws in a paper marker with an eye drawn on it. I though it was strange but everyone else seemed to think it was valuable. That round came down to just him and me. The River Card got turned over and I ended up with a Straight Flush. I won the whole pot.

I should have known not to trust a blind guy who wins at poker. I got everything in the pot all right including these skull splitting visions. Turns out that the old blind guy was a Seer for the Powers That Be. He was looking for someone to pass his powers on to, and he choose me. The first vision I ever got was of the Seer being ripped apart by these weird robed demons in an alley. I knew these robed guys would be after me next so I went looking for the best Champion of the Powers That Be, and I lucked out. What with the Slayer being right here in Vegas. So now I’m the new Seer, guiding the warriors of light against the forces of darkness, as I said someone up there was watching and they have a sick sense of humor.

Quote: “Mind numbing pain, and horrific scenes in full Technicolor. And I still can’t get a single winning Keno number, some Visions.”

Roleplaying the Empathic Card Sharp:
You never wanted to be a hero, you just wanted to continue one with your life and make a little money whenever the opportunity arose. You thought you saw such an opportunity and you ended up with a lot more then you bargained for. The visions have changed you similar to way they changed Cordelia. You’re still selfish and you look out for number one, but with so many people screaming in pain in your visions you can’t ignore other people like you used to.
