My
goals as a teacher are for my students
-to feel legitimately good about themselves.
-to have a respect for learning.
-to be successful in their life's endeavors.
-to spend their energies on learning, not on misbehavior
Expectations for 8th Grade Science
Classroom Expectation is for students to be kind, polite, and
thorough.
General Classroom Rules
1. Take Responsibility for your Actions and Respect yourself and
others around you. Do this by:
- Taking pride in your work and
striving to always improve and...
- Listening to others that are speaking
and understanding that their ideas
are
just as important as yours and...
- Coming to class prepared
and ready to learn and...
- Thinking before you do anything!!
Labs, labs, labs. An integral part of this course
is lab work.
The one doing the work is the one doing the learning. I expect
quality work at all times and look forward to seeing you turn
in your best work.
- Follow all lab directions completely.
- Use lab instruments in the manner
they are intended to be used
- No food, drink, gum, etc. allowed
in lab.
- Follow any specific lab instructions
that may arise in individual labs.
- At the end of each lab clean up
your station and return all materials to where
you found them.
How I run my class
1. I will treat you with respect, so you will know how to treat
me.
2. Feel free to do anything that doesn't disrupt the learning
of yourself or anyone else in the classroom.
3. If you cause a problem, I will ask you to solve it. I want
you to give me solutions, not excuses!
4. If you can't solve the problem, or choose not to, I will do
something
5. What I do, will depend on the special person, and the special
situation.
6. If you feel something is unfair, whisper to me, "I'm not
sure that's fair," and we will talk.
Quality Work and Wednesday Make-ups
I grade all school work turned in on time. Honor due dates as
late work will not be accepted. Lab make-ups will take place on
Wednesdays from 2:45pm- 3:30pm.
