Lake Superior Provincial Park sits on the eastern shore of Lake Superior in Ontario, about an hour north of Sault Ste. Marie. It's where the Canadian Shield meets the lake so the shoreline is rough and rocky. This leads to all sorts of interesting coves, cliffs, beaches, and islands.

When waves splash over the rocks, water collects in pools. The high pools can get a bit stagnant because they are only refreshed with water during a big storm but others can make nice swimming pools with water that is a bit warmer than the Lake. At this time, however, Lake Superior was perfectly comfortable to swim in.

Do NOT try to vist this park without seeing the pictographs. If a park ranger sees you they will ask you if you have seen the pictographs and if you say no they will shoot you.

Aubrey Falls isn't near Lake Superior Provincial Park. It's not near anywhere. In fact, I think this is the furthest into the middle of nowhere that I have ever driven.
