SUBMISSIONS

We don't want too many guidelines or restrictions, so length limits for each category are the only guidelines we ask you to follow. We encourage you to submit works of all styles as long as they are original.

Accepted entries for Galápagos will be posted at the beginning of each month. We will notify you by email if we are going to use your work. If your work is chosen for Galápagos we will ask you to send a 50-word autobiographical description.

Poetry
No more than 100 lines. Prose poems are fine too, but please not over a page (350 words).

Prose
Short stories should not exceed 6000 words, but as we have had a low number of submissions in recent months, if you've got something, send it to us, and if we like it, we can work with it.

The Thinking Mandarin
This is a place for submissions that aren't poems and aren't really stories, either. This is for the goofy stuff, the old journals or wacky 3 am writings that are pretty nonsensical, but still cool to read. If you have written something and you don't know what exactly to call it, this is the place. These cannot exceed 1700 words.

Book reviews
Since we only recently began this section of Galápagos, submissions are certainly welcome. Please send a query first— don't just rocket off a review. We are looking for particulars, and we'd love to work with you.
