the olympic pennisula is a surprisingly undeveloped patch of wilderness with everything you could hope for: beaches, rainforest, and mountains.

us on the beach and erik on the rocks. funny story: as i was jumping from rock to rock, my camera flew out of my pocket and *clink* *clink* *clink* fell deeper and deeper into the unreachable crevices of the rocks. i could see where it fell to but it was way out of reach and the rocks were to big to budge so my brother and i found some long sticks, used them like big chopsticks, and after several attempts, miraculously lifted my camera out. then three nuns walked into a bar.

the north cascades national park is an absolutely beautiful area. we hiked the chain lakes loop and besides the biting flies, it was one of the nicest hikes i've been on.
