nipper! - The Album

Brand-spankin' new, hot off the press, the first nipper! album is scheduled for release in stores everywhere, in February. The first track, "Water Buffalo", has already been getting airplay on college stations around the country, debuting at #81 on CMJ's new music charts, and will be on CMJ's March New Music Sampler.

Recorded entirely in Donna's bedroom and Andy's pretty big basement, (on a kick-ass Yamaha 4-track) the album sounds a lot like what would happen if three high-schoolers met at a party, stumbled upon drums & guitars, and jammed, after being dumped, lost for a while, curious about strange phenomena, or just plain bored. The album's indie/pop/lo-fi/"too poor to record in a studio" feel calls to mind early Sebadoh, Pavement, Guided By Voices, and Liz Phair.
