This project examines a switched extremum seeking approach for determining the maximum power point of a photovoltaic (PV) system, using DC/DC converter power electronics. The proposed switched extremum seeking controller leverages averaging and Lyapunov stability theory to converge to the maximum power point asymptotically. This concept is demonstrated through simulation, using mathematical models for PV cells and DC/DC converters introduced in class.
