EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE

American Psychiatric Association - Practice Guidelines. Among others it includes:

National Guideline Clearinghouse™ (NGC), a public resource for evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. Divided into diseases/conditions and interventions. Includes psychiatric and psychological material.

Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine - Information including teaching slide presentations about evidence based medicine, how to research a question, and other practical tips and links.

Veterans Administration Clinical Practice Guidelines - See their mental health list, but there is also material on the psychosocial components in their medical topics as well. Nice brief one on smoking cessation. There is also one that covers the range of presentations for substance abuse.

American Psychiatric Association Practice Guidelines - There is a growing list of practice guidelines. These are initially published as supplements to the American Journal of Psychiatry. Includes: Psychiatric Evaluation of Adults, Eating Disorders, Delirium (Includes a Family Guide), Suicidal Behaviors, etc.

American Psychological Association Practice Guidelines

If you need help in making sense of medical research, check out the websites designed with that in mind.
