Hi Phoebe,

I came across your site a while (years?) back, and after converting old sites to my new Bookmarks, I was reminded of it. What a nice find, again!

Anyway, I have a little information on Lunan-Fergusan, so have gotten in touch, as you suggested on your page: http://www.ravenblond.com/pgloeckner/pages/Ferguson.html

Using the site below, I found several copies of L-F's autobiography in the NYC metro area. Perhaps that would help you score a copy in your travels...

Hi,

I just read about your encounter with Mr. Ferguson. Coincidentally, I had a similar experience, around the same time. I was born and raised in the Richmond District and used to pass by his store front quite often, always wondering about it. After college (1988), I was visiting the old 'hood and recall looking into the window and clutter behind. Mr. Ferguson either waved me in or I knocked (I don't recall the exact details). I recall talking to him and I bought his book "83 Practical Observations by an Octogenarian Psychologist".

The other day, I was looking through some boxes of books and rediscovered this book. And, pressed between the pages was a personal, thank you letter (dated August 29, 1988) from him sent to my residence in Southern California. The letter is typewritten, on "The Lunan Ferguson Library" letterhead. I may have ordered this book from him during my visit and he subsequently mailed it to me.

Anyway, rediscovering the book caused me to think about him and I decided to type his name into a search engine and found your site.

Have you received any other replies or have you found any other information about him? Please share any information with me.

Thanks,

Dennis
