T-tubules of ventricular myocytes
T-tubules present a network of invaginations of sarcolemmal membrane and harbor the most essential components involved in excitation–contraction coupling.
T-tubules appear to be a constant feature of adult ventricular myocytes under normal conditions but they become disorganized or even lost during a number of pathologies including heart failure.
