General
Currently, the lab occupies about 670 square feet of well equipped space providing us with the opportunity to carry out research in the best possible way - cell culture, molecular biology and cell biology experiments, general purpose procedures such as handing chemicals and solutions, animal electrophysiology and patch-clamp experimentation as well as office related activity.
Isolated (dark) sub-room for patch-clamp electrophysiology houses two complete patch-clamp rigs each equipped with inverted Nikon fluorescent microscopes (we also use K channels labeled with Green Fluorescent Protein), Axopatch 200B amplifies and PClamp10.x-8.x software plus all other necessary devices and tools. Isolated heart Langendorff perfusion system is located nearby in the main lab and equipped with all necessary devices including amplifiers, pressure transducers, flow meter etc. Every working place is computerized and Internet connected allowing painless access to printers, data storage and communication. At this moment our lab network includes 7 computers with shared resources and storage space. In addition to working space ~100 sq. feet office space is available for lab personnel to read, communicate, discuss and have lunch.
