1732 William Bishop was born in New London. [1]

1757 In August, William Bishop was a sergeant in Capt. John Latimore's company of the 3rd Conn. Regt., Col. Gurdon Saltonstall, called out for the relief of Fort William Henry. He also served in the Indian Wars. [2]

1760 William Bishop went to Horton, Nova Scotia with his father and brothers in June 1760. [3]

1761 On 20 April, Captain Bishop married Jemima Calkin. William Bishop lived in Greenwich, on what afterward became the Eli Griffin place. [4]

1770 Census, Horton Twp: William Bishop (1 man, 2 boys, 1 woman, 4 girls) [5]

1781 William Bishop he was one of a party who, under Lieut. Belcher, rescued a schooner laden with provisions, from Minas Basin for St. John, that had been captured by an American privateer in Minas Basin. After a sharp fight off Cape Split the privateer was driven away. [6]

1797 William Bishop was a captain in the Second Regiment of King's County Militia. [7]
