Father - Kurt Katch, character actor
who appeared in 50+ American films, and over 100 TV shows. Born in Grodno,
Poland (Russia), but lived mostly in Germany. A famous soccer goalie during
his youth, he was also a member of the famous Max Rienhart acting school.
Made the first German "talkie" motion picture. Came to U.S. in
1937 to avoid the Nazis. Film credits include such classics as "The
Young Lions" with Marlon Brando, "The Purple Heart", "The
Seventh Cross" with George Raft, and "Ali Baba and the Forty Theives".
Also played on Broadway including starring in "I Remember Mamma".
Died in 1958 at age 65 from cancer.
Mother - Roma Katch, born in Warsaw,
Poland. Famous polish stage actress. In the U.S. she was noted for her one-women
stage performances, and was the early voice of "Cambell Soup"
commercials. Served as acting coach and voice/dialect teacher for many famous
hollywood stars of the 40's, 50's, and 60's. Died in 1995 at age 84.
