Email...Back?

Email is back...sort of. We have lost everything prior to Saturday. Everything. All saved messages for the past 10 years were lost. They are attempting to restore those, but think they many only be able to get about 95% of them. So, I am sort fo back in business. New emails are getting through!

Email...or lack thereof

So, just a quick note to friends. My work email has been down since Friday night. Apparently we were hit with a "devastating" virus on Friday, which wiped out our servers, and we have not had access to any microsoft program except windows itself. oulook, word, excel, access, etc. I have web ability, and windows right now. We have apparently lost all email received since Tuesday of last week. I am currently switching my personal email over to jvankirk72@yahoo.com until you receive further notice form me. Thanks!

Job

It looks like I won't be called back for a second interview. One of my coworkers who applied had a second interview scheduled last evening. I have heard nothing yet, and from the first interview it seemed like they were only planning on 2 for the second round of interviewing. Oh well, that saves me having to decide if I want to drive to Dearborn daily.

Vacation

I took vacation for tomorrow! Yay! Friday off is always good.

Hand Pain

So, my hands have been aching for several days now. Part of it is all of the manual labor lately at Matthew's (Painting, mopping, sanding floors, etc.) But, I know that a main part of it is the weather. This time of year, when it alternates between warm and cold, and dry and wet, often cause me joint pain. It comes with the arthritis territory. I have had Arthritis problems since I was about 14. Mind you, they are minor problems, but still, it is rather aggravating when it hurts to type, etc. Nothing really important to say. I just wanted to bitch about it.

Interview

So, last week, on Friday, the Dearborn campus contacted me for an interview. It was scheduled for Thursday of this week. Today, they called and changed it to Tuesday of next week in the morning. So, next Tuesday morning, I will be interviewing for the Assistant Director of Financial Services for Dearborn Campus job. I am not sure if I want it or not. I calculated the extra driving time, and that ended up being over 300 extra hours in the car every year. If I multiply that by my current salary per hour, they need to give me over $7,500 additional just to compensate for my extra hours in the car. It is even more when you end up calculating extra gas, wear and tear on the car, giving up my flexible scheduling, and more parking fees ($450 more per year), etc. So, while it is a good job, they will have to make a substantial offer to entice me to leave my current one. My time is precious to me, and even if it doesn't technically qualify as work to be driving, I feel I need to count it as hours "worked" to determine what it will do to my free time. What do people think? Is that legitimate?
