Quiz Reults from Couple Financial Quiz

26 pts.
25-30 points: Marriage and money can be a volatile mix -- but not for you and your mate: You're mad about (not at) each other.

Your marriage is a model of modern mellow maturity. Which is not to say it's perfect -- but you're wise enough to know no couple is composed of two cookie-cutter counterparts. What a bore, if it were so.

Disagreements and differing viewpoints don't strike fear into your hearts, because you know you have the skills and tools to work through them to your mutual satisfaction. The silent treatment is not your style, jumping to conclusions is not your sport, and yelling is something you generally reserve for words like ''Fire!''

Because a marriage, like any organic entity, is ever mutable, do remain conscientious about periodically checking in with each other to see what condition your condition's in -- cash-wise and otherwise. Word to the wise.

Break Time!
Okay, so today has been BUSY. We have a few projects that have been slow on the start but seem to be piling work on top of one another suddenly. I have spent the day thus far just trying to tread water. It is tiring.

Management
Carla, you are so right. Managing takes it out of you. Especially when staff are in bad moods, or are being very picky. Work was easier when I only had myself to worry about. Not only do I get blamed when one of my staff screw up, I also get the joyless job of telling them how bad raises are each year, and of course, they lash out at me. Mostly they are understanding, but occasionally.... Anyway, for everyone out there, remember that your immediate supervisor doesn't always make the decisions which affect you directly. Sometimes we are just told how it's going to be. We can try and intervene, but more often than not, thats a losing uphill battle.

Party

'Twas a lot of fun. We enjoy that group of people, but as Patrick pointed out in his Blog, it is somewhat frustrating as well. Having 2 completely separate circles of friends can be stressful at times. At least one of the "gay" friends found out about the party at our house on Saturday. Although he didn't say anything, I still felt a need to explain that I wasn't hosting it with Patrick, and that it was a different circle of friends, the "gamers". I think both circles are fine with each other in general, but they never seem to mix well. One group will migrate to another area. The rest stay. We end up running between groups to socialize. I like both groups. *sigh* It makes it hard to try and have all of your friends together at the same time.

FIRE OF AIR. Serious and intellectual, you live in the world of thoughts and ideas. You grasp things quicker than most and are a master debater. Your verbal skills are unparalleled; your conversations are stimulating. You are concerned with issues of justice. Your standards are high, so there is danger of becoming too moralistic. While truth is generally an honorable thing, chew on this: "Why Yes Herr Strudel, my neighbor IS hiding Jews in his basement!" You're Christopher Walken in Suicide Kings.

Les Miserables:
We went to see Les Miserables last night at the Wharton Center at MSU. The guy playing Jean Valjean was fantastic. His voice...amazing. He gave me chills several times. Overall though, compared to other productions I have seen of it, it seemed rather flat. I only nearly cried once. Generally, I sob... Maybe I expect too much? Patrick seemed to like it, but wasn't overly impressed. I had hoped he would love it. I guess based on my reaction, that was too much to hope for out of this production. *sigh* I think Kris had a good time.

Dreams

So, I had a very strange dream last night. I have actually spent a long time this morning thinking about it, and trying to understand it. So far to no avail. So, here goes:

I am who I am today. A full-grown adult. I am walking around my old High School (Saline). I walk into a class...I am late. I look around. All of the students are people I knew when I was in about 3rd grade when I went to Clinton Schools. They are all about 5th grade age though. About the age they would have been if I had come back to Clinton Schools after my 2 year stint in Mexico. (Instead, we moved to Saline.) They hadn't changed physically, but they were older. (Strange.) I was a 30 year old 5th grader. They all remembered me, and were wondering how I had gotten so grown-up. I looked around for the teacher and he came in. It was James A. He knew me. I said "Hey James." "Is Carla still working long hours?" He nodded, and went into teaching mode about a book they were reading (Isaac Asimov). I sat down with an old friend (Matt Peterson? I think that was his name.) and we started talking. They were all calling him James too. I would have expected Mr. A.to stop this, but he didn't seem to mind. I spent the rest of the day in this class, reacquainting myself with old friends. Everyone seemed fascinated that I knew the teacher and his wife, and called him by his first name. I pointed out that they did too, but they said, "Yeah, but you do it like you know him." Then my alarm clock went off. For some reason I can't seem to drop this dream today. It wasn't scary, or even disturbing. It felt like I was coming home or something. Strange.

I will catch up on my blogging later today, after I catch up work stuff. Afterall, when at work, it should come first. In the mean time...Below you will find some results from the latest quizzes we are all doing.

Florimel, also known as "Flora", is beautiful and usually passive. Quick to fall for a handsome face, but as fickle as they come. She means well, but a girl has to look out for herself. In Roger Zelazny's "Nine Princes in Amber", Corwin describes her as having red haired with eyes that "were as blue as Lake Erie at three o'clock on a cloudless summer afternoon", she kept watch over Corwin during his exile on Earth and kept Eric updated on his whereabouts.
