Novi in Motion Teacher's Page

Novi in Motion is a relatively simple use of technology, in which students use a spreadsheet to enter their times in the 100 yard dash and the 20 minute run/walk, along with the times and distances of other students. The computer figures the students' speed in miles per hour, and draws a graph comparing students' time and distance.

To use this activity, all you'll need is some raw data (dash and run times and distances) and a little knowledge about using the ClarisWorks spreadsheet. To download the spreadsheet, click on the icon below:

An icon for the spreadsheet should appear on your computer's desktop (the colored space to the right of this window). Double click the icon and you're on your way. The spreadsheet is designed to be as easy to use as possible. The only places you'll be able to add data will be in the appropriate boxes: All the cells which contain formulas or which are empty are locked so that you can't accidently erase formulas.
