Pictures from life in Wolverine Country and thereabouts. (All images are thumbnails: click for larger images.) The year 2000 has been an incredibly rewarding year to date, spending 6 1/2 days a week pursuing my research and a 1/2 day a week in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Occasionally, tho, other work for the medical school or just time with friends and family took me elsewhere... My mom and dad now live just an hour north, so they come down almost every weekend. Here's my mom and I in my apartment (unfortuately, the picture with my Dad didn't come out) in front of the computer on which I seem to spend an inordinate amount of time working in front of...if you've ever wondered where the other end of the ICQ point is, it's there. =) On Friday morning Peds Heme/Onc with Drs. Williams, Boxer and Motto.
West, hanging with friends in Chicago...East at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute's meeting of Medical Student Fellows...West again at Michigan State Medical Society Headquarters...really, really did a heck of a lot of road time this year...
If you've ever wondered where all the rules for the National Resident Matching Program get made, the answer is around a square table in Conference Room 130 in AAMC Headquarters. With my friend Ashish Bhatia at the May Board Meeting. On the same weekend, a bunch of us ASIJ '94 folk who missed the West Coast reunion had one of our own in DC. Thanks to everyone for coming out! Working lights and spots with a wonderful team for the spring medical student musical...doing spots...crawling 'bout the roof...and hanging with friends after the show...Theatre Tech Rocks! With my friend Arnold Kim at a CMDS year-end pot-luck... With two of my Big Sibs, (now) Dr. Josh Uy and Dr. Gene Kim. Thanks for all of your help over the last three years --you guys were the best! A particularly raucous round of "Outburst", a game where teams try to brainstorm as many items that fit under a category as possible. Our team just got the category "Organs of the GI tract." Giving this topic to a group of medical students is like handing out free money... =) And the troops gathered at another CMDS meeting to plan for the upcoming year. It's going to be fun! With my friend Jason Liu (HPME '01) in Chicago. More fun at the AMA Annual Meeting 2000 --still lots of other photos on the other rolls not yet available...
At BD's Mongolian Barbeque with friends visiting for the Art Fair this summer.
