01.16.04 - Separation into work and play sites has begun. Things will be more broken than usual.
11.27.03 - Spawned mmmaybe. This should give you a good idea as to where the site is heading. Revived aesthetica, for no real reason. Just nostalgic I guess. Also working relatively hard on a new site disclaimer.
11.19.03 - Extreme changes. Moving to a new domain and the blog now resides here Too many things broken to report. Slow fixes in progress.
10.11.03 - Well, I guess I lied. There were no "frequent updates". There however, has been an update to the picture page. It will have to do.
08.17.03 - A myriad of small changes forces a version number bump to v0.1.5b. The beta tag remains because many pages are in flux and/or are horribly broken. Frequent updates until a stable release should ensue as it's falling together in my head.
Earlier site news get archived along with journal entries.

Some random technical information that no one really wants to know.

Disclaimer and Usage Policy

I am not a lawyer, nor have I employed one in preparing this document. As a result, there might be a fair degree of ambiguity in interpretation of some of the terms that follow. If such an event occurs, the final interpretation is the way I "meant it", which I will clarify if requested, no matter what words I used to articulate it, and how they could be interpreted.

The content of these pages, and the opinions expressed within, may or may not be representative of my own ideas. They do not, however, reflect the views of the University of Michigan, in any way.

I reserve the right to change the contents of this document any point of time, with or without notice. The most recent terms are always in effect immediately, and cover the site as a whole. You cannot and will not use the information you find on this site to (or relay it to anyone who can and/or probably will use it to) hurt me in any way. You should not contact me for more details on events or personal information than what I have already provided on the site.
If you have a real life relationship with me, make sure I know that you read my site.
Do not assume that you know everything there is to know about me, or people I mention, simply because you read my site on a regular basis. You have to leave if your intent is to use this site as a means of judging me, or my life.
If I do not want you reading my site, you should respect this and please stop reading it.
I have no issue with you initiating contact, or contacting me in general, as long as it's not for the "wrong" reasons. Please consider using the commenting scheme or the guestbook as a means for providing feedback, before you decide to use other means. If you do decide to get in touch, please don't assume I owe you a response.
If you are interested in finding out more about the technology behind a certain aspect of the site, send me a query. However, it is assumed you have given me permission to choose whether I wish to respond, and respond in any tone I see fit.
If I write something about you and you don't appreciate it, please let me know, in a calm, rational and polite way. I realize that you are entitled to your privacy as well. More importantly, if you know I care about you, and I say something negative here directed at an anonymous person, and you somehow feel you fit the description of that anonymous person, please don't be annoyed or hurt. It wasn't you.

Browser and Platform Compatibility Notes

This website has been tested on Internet Explorer on MS WindowsME and MS WindowsXP. On the same platforms, it has also been tested on Firebird, a gecko embedded browser. On GNU/Linux, it has been extensively tested on Galeon, another gecko embedded browser. On UNIX, it has been tested on Netscape Navigator 6+. On MacOS(9 and X), it has been tested on Internet Explorer, Omniweb and Chimera. Since this website conforms to all major standards, there is no reason it shouldn't work on your browser. If you are currently on a platform or browser that's not on this list and it works, please let me know. Also, since Netscape Navigator 4.x, and below, have non standard css support, they are currently the only known set of browsers in which the site fails to render. Not only does it fail to render, it locks up the browser. So be very afraid. I suppose a similar thing should happen to an older version of Internet Explorer without css support, but I don't have a copy to test it with.

TO DO List

Do something interesting with life that warrants placement on the news page or atleast journal page.
Constantly update this TO DO list because I have a lot of time on my hands.
Yeah right.
Create and maintain a changelog.
Club this TO DO list, credits, changelog, version info and browser/platform compatibility into one page and link it via version number in the footer.
Design/try/fix header(s) and footer(s), and migrate all pages to new layout.
Remove credits in nav menu and replace by picture page. (called g a l e r i a ?)
Acquire/take pictures, thumbnail them, write out descriptions and evolve the "picture page".
Work on the interests (now entropy) page and update once in a while. Move the interests page to a format similar to that of the artwork or pictures pages as of v0.1.3b. That is, do the "big split".
Update/maintain journal page and password protect it.
Add a Google search box to the footer.
Complete/enhance/site check/enlarge links page.
Attempt web ring.
Get "powered by" images.
Circumvent IE png rendering flaws by replacing address png with jpeg.
Work on guestbook w3c html standard compliance.
Work on minimizing differences between ie and gecko rendering. Enhance spatial positioning in gecko based browsers.
Attempt modded color schemes to.. appear less ripped off a design.
Work on format for an "article" page. Test with random dummy articles and then migrate some old articles and write some new ones.
Add a "not UM's views" disclaimer to the footer or .info.
Recreate artwork from home home and update artwork page with a new text-fx section. Upload some of the new artwork into different sections.
Minimize template to just hold main "frame" and nothing else per page, making layout changes easier.
Abstract all of the color scheme into css. Fix css standard compliance.
Divide the artwork page into original rendering, photo manipulations and screen shots.
Fix the theming code on the blog to match site better.
Introduce an XTF (eXperimental Testing Facility) or some such section of the site where cool new technology such as an automated photo gallery can be tested.
Update/complete resume. Probably move resume into a "work" section making provisions for posting work related stuff like publications, presentations and posters.
Add in-page links to subsections of the links page.
Make entropy and resume/work "live" so that I will be forced to update them faster.
Start moving the web pages into different directories to reduce current clutter.
Rewrite the footer to now contain an additional line about the usage policy complete with the one-line equivalent. Attempt to replace the general google search with a site or atleast domain specific google search.
Fix the horribly broken bloogle. Start populating blog links in index2.php, remove the cheesy attribute triangle for now, and make it go "live" as well.
Add credits for stolen phpBB smiley icons.
