EDUCATION
University of Michigan
- I am currently attending the University of Michigan
in Ann Arbor MI. I am in the Literature, Science and Arts program.
- At this moment I have attained a 3.5 GPA
- I will graduate in fall of 1997 with a BGS.
- My BGS has concentrations in Business, English,
Communication, and Psychology.
- The concentrations in my BGS are focused on Marketing,
the field in which I wish to pursue a career.
- I chose the BGS degree because it allowed me the freedom to
choose from a more extensive curriculum, while allowing me to
focus on my strengths and to see Marketing from many different
standpoints. Standpoints that just aren't addressed in the business
school.
Eastern Michigan University
- Before attending the University of Michigan I spent two years
at Eastern Michigan University
in Ypsilanti MI.
- I left EMU with a 3.5 GPA
- Eastern Michigan University was a good school with a respectable
educational program. I learned a lot in my two years at Eastern.
It was here I completed my required general undergraduate classes.
EXPERIENCE
- My third educational opportunity was working this summer at
International Minute Press, a small franchised printing
company in downtown Ann Arbor. This was my first real business
experience in business, a Marketing Consultant. This was
a great summer job because I would spend the afternoon outdoors
traveling from business to business gathering quotes while enjoying
the good weather.
- My second Job opportunity was arranged through the Pioneer
High School Educational Opportunity program. This program arranged
for me to work at The Mail Shoppe in downtown Ann Arbor.
Here I worked under Doug Barnett, a good manager and entrepreneur
of an interesting little shop. At the Mail Shoppe I was again
exposed to the importance of teamwork. I also learned the value
of a good education because my job was to sort envelopes into
little slots for hours on end.
- My first job was doing a variety of jobs at the University
of Michigan East Quad Dinning Service. While it wasn't
the most glamorous job I did learn a lot about the importance
of team work. I also could see, even at age sixteen why good management
is so important to the efficiency of a business. Fortunately I
worked under a fantastic supervisor, Lois Allen, for four consecutive
summers. Lois still begs me to come back every year.

HOBBIES
- My favorite hobby is playing the guitar. I have
been playing now for about seven years and I still love it. I
like to play: Jazz, Classical, Funk, and Rock, or maybe a fusion
of more then one of these. Lately I have been learning the music
of Bob Marley, a fantastic musician and song writer.
- Another artistic hobby I enjoy is photography.
Since I have no drawing or painting skills, I wanted to capture
a scene that had a sense of originality to it. Photography allows
me to do this because the photo is from my perspective, which
is often askew. I mostly take photos of natural scenes, as well
as animals. I tend not to take photos of people because no one
I know ever wants there picture taken.
- Often my "photo shoots" occur like I said, out in
nature. I tend to take photos when I go backpacking.
I have been to Arkansas, the Smoky Mountains about four times,
and most recently down the Neusiok Trail in North Carolina.
GOALS
- My goals are ambitious, because I want to succeed in everything
I do. My parents never put a lot of pressure on me in school,
so I put the pressure on myself. When people see the degree of
intensity at which I work, they are surprised that I do so by
my own conviction.
- My first goal is to attain a job in the music industry after
completing my BGS degree at Uof M. I would love to do marketing,
but management or production also sound exciting. I know I'll
have to start at the bottom and work my way up, but that's fine
with me, I think a manager who has not experienced the lower rung
often cannot run the business efficiently.
- After attaining some capital, I plan to open my own guitar
store in a choice location which is currently undecided. I want
to own a store with lots of inventory and impeccable service.
My store will be huge! a guitarists dream.
