Virtual Reality Visualization of FE Simulations

Application

There are three items in this section:

1. You can download the FEMvrml software and all of its associated files.

2. Guidelines for setting up the FEMvrml environment are provided.

3. A technical paper describing the effort behind the developed software is provided.

Software & Input File Examples

Guideline : Setup Environment for FEMvrml

System Requirements

Microsoft Windows OS (98/Me/2000/XP),
Microsoft Internet Explorer, and
Cortona VRML Client ver. 4.1 (free plug-in software) available from:
http://www.parallelgraphics.com/products/cortona/previous

Setting up Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (VM)

The software is written in the form of a Java applet, so you need to check on all the items on the menu of [Tool - Internet option - Detail - Microsoft VM]. But please do not use Java 2 for applet.

If the system does not work even then, you need to install or update Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (VM) along the following lines: http://www.mvps.org/marksxp/WindowsXP/java.php

If the java applet still does not work properly, close all explorer windows and try again. Sometimes cookies can cause conflicts.

FEMvrml setup

FemVrmlJApplet.class should be in the working directory (i.e. the same directory that contains Input data files)
