Introspection

What is in a name
But letters and sound and breath
Nothing to hold, save
An idea held in my mind
Not even memory, but
A title of Blood

What is in a man
But a yearning for fact and truth
Something to know, to claim
As a connection to one's self
Not only sensory, but
The ties of Blood

What is in a heart
But blood and desire and love
Someone to look to and know
A sister or father or uncle or son
Not just a relative, but
A union of Blood
