Who wants a formatting job?

Postby Kain Darkwind » Mon Apr 07, 2008 4:31 am

A nearly thankless task, to be sure, since all you'll gain from this is my undying gratitude.

Basically, you'll be made a moderator of this board and this board only, and with that awesome power, you will be required to format my posted stats into some specifications that I will provide you with. If you are a true glutton for punishment, you can update/create the index for the threads.

If you are interested in announcing your masochism to the board at large, feel free to sign up below. And if you aren't interested, feel free to NOT post on the thread. I don't need "I would do it Kain, but my school/job/fact that I still need my mother's milk is keeping me from committing at this time...." to get my hopes up when I see a response.

I could've sworn they already had indexes. :P

You're not switching everything to the new statblock format, are you?

Why not, I have free time during the day. PM me your specifications por favor.
If at first you don't succeed, try try again.
if then you don't succeed, Cheat.
Repeat until caught, then Lie.

I lost some time once. It's always in the last place you look for it.

While I don't fully understand by what you mean by "format", I, too, have some extra time on my hands that I can put to good use. Sign me up, if you're still looking for people

Depending on what it entails and how much work you need I can pitch in.

Holy frick you work too hard.

Not a chance. Maybe if I was running games with them every week, then I'd consider switching (or at least doing the new ones in the format), but it just isn't getting the proper cost vs benefit ratio it would need to happen right now.

To begin with, those interested, I would like the name of every non-unique creature done in size 125. Still bolded. I would like the name of every unique entity done in size 175.

Also, the abilities should begin with just one line between them and the main statblock. Some of the blocks have two or three. Each ability should only have a single line between it and the next ability.

Spells need to be formatted like so.

Spells: Jon casts spells as a [class] and a [class].
Spells per day: x/x/x/x/x/x/x/x (Caster level xth, DC y + spell level)

Not like

Spells: Jon is a xth level cleric.
spells per day x/x/x/x/x/x/x/x DC y + spell level

For specialists/clerics/those with Spell Focus, the format is

Spells: Jon casts spells as a cleric with the x, y and z domains and a necromancer with the prohibited schools of a and b.
Spells per day: x/x/x/x/x/x/x/x (Caster level xth, DC y + spell level; necromancy DC z + spell level)

are folks still interested?

Another thing to look for and eradicate. (No rush on this one. At your own pace.)

Darkvision in Alternate World has become absolute. If you can see in the dark, you can see in the dark. It doesn't turn off at a magical range.

Which means any entity (or creature) with darkvision shouldn't have a range listed. When you find them, just remove the range. The quality should read 'darkvision' followed by a comma if there are more qualities.

Also note that I've removed it on the master copy through Find/Replace, so none of the entities I post from here on out should have it wrong.
