Alright. 4e introduced titans as larger (Huge) giants to complement the Large existing giants.
AW had already increased the standard size of giants to Huge.
I like the titan idea, although I'm not replacing the plain titan with them in any way. Instead, I'll be shrinking my giants back down to their 3.5 size, and allowing the titans to fill the Huge role.
For cloud giants and storm giants, who are Large sized in the 4e cosmos, this requires some juggling. For AW, we are throwing out the idea of Large storm and clouds, but neither are we going to make the titans Gargantuan. Instead, the Huge giants will occupy the bottom end of the heights for Huge (16-24 ft.) while the Huge titans will occupy the top end (24-32 ft)
In the Reality where Points of Light exists, giants are derived from cosmic forces. In the 'standard' Reality I hold my games in, where the Great Wheel exists, giants are often the children of the gods. The jotun and muspeli are two examples of this, they are effectively DvR 0 giants from Norse myth. However, they also work as fire and frost titans, if the divine subtype is removed from them (dropping their CR down to around 17-18).
In short, both giants and titans will be existing across realities in AW. How they are handled depends largely on the reality in which they are being used. The stats that appear on the thread will assume the standard Great Wheel cosmology unless otherwise noted. Once more is known about the Points of Light setting, notes about changes between the two realities may be included.
