Christian first started programming on the IBM System/34 in the programming language RPGII. He is a Professor and teaches in both the School of Information and in Communication Studies. He previously spent time as a visiting researcher, consultant, or employee at Microsoft, Intel, MCI, MIT, Oxford, and Harvard. He has worked in software engineering for a search engine start-up company, a Fortune 500 company, and a regional government. Sandvig's reseach about the future of the Internet and social media has appeared in/on The Economist, The New York Times, Wired, and National Public Radio. He has personally met Grumpy Cat.

Sangseok is a fifth-year PhD candidate at School of Information. His dissertation research investigates how teams work with robots and what the social dynamics in these teams look like. In college, he majored in mass communication and journalism and Human-Computer Interaction. He is also avidly curious about the underlying mechanisms and the effects of social feeds. For his undergraduate thesis, he wrote about the gatekeeping effects of interactive news feeds by a large internet portal in Korea. He likes video games and kills time watching videos in Twitch.
