Transportation options
Detroit Metro Airport
- Commuter Bus runs on the hour from 7 AM to Midnight. Cost is
around $18 and the commuter stand is located in the baggage claim areas of
each major airline. The Commuter will stop at the
Sheraton Inn by

- Sheraton Inn Shuttle. With advance notice, the Inn will
transport you to and from the airport. Contact Beth Demkowski for assistance, or
call the Sheraton Inn directly at 1-734-996-0600.
- There are taxis and limos waiting at the baggage claim areas of all major airlines.
- If you choose to rent a car, note that you will need a parking pass if you bring the vehicle to Campus. Even with a pass, parking is scarce. Contact Beth Demkowski for assistance.
Shuttle between Sheraton and Campus
- The Sheraton will provide a conference shuttle bus at 8:45 each morning and 18:30 each evening (12:30 on Saturday) with the following exceptions:
Tuesday, 25-Aug, the 18:30 shuttle will only accommodate 6 people; the
major shuttle will run following the Reception at 20:15.
Wednesday, 26-Aug, the 18:30 shuttle will not be available. The only run will be after the
Dinner, at 21:00.
- There is a taxi stand near the corner of State Street and South University Avenue, in front of the Michigan Union. The Sheraton can assist you in getting a taxi from the Inn.
Transportation from Ann Arbor to Chicago
- Amtrak Train. For reservations call 1-800-872-7245. You
must call in advance
to reserve a seat on the train. Service between Ann Arbor and Chicago for 29 and 30-Aug:

- If you are driving to Chicago and willing to take passengers, or if you are interested in being a passenger, please contact Connie Bridges.

Welcome Reception
University of Michigan Museum of Art
Conference participants are invited to a Welcome Reception on Tuesday evening, 25-Aug, starting at 18:00.
Starting at about 18:45 a guide will be available to those interested in a tour of the Museum.
The Museum of Art is located at the corner of South University Avenue and State Street, within easy walking distance from the conference.
At 20:15, a shuttle bus will be at the front of the Museum to meet those who wish to return to the Sheraton Inn. Taxis are available across the street from the Museum (in front of the Michigan Union Building).

Conference Dinner
Michigan League
All conference participants are invited to a dinner on Wednesday evening, 26-Aug, starting at 18:30.
The Michigan League is located at the corner of North University Avenue and Fletcher Street, within easy walking distance from the conference. The dinner will be held in the Hussey Room, located on the second floor of the building. At 21:00, a shuttl
e bus will be at the front of the Michigan League to meet those who wish to return to the Sheraton Inn.
Please RSVP to Connie Bridges as soon as possible, and be sure to let her know if you would prefer a vegetarian meal.
