    Climate and Space Sciences Session Co-Chair, Engineering Graduate Symposium (2016)

    I am the session chair for the Climate and Space Sciences poster session during the Engineering Graduate Symposium (EGS). EGS is a college-wide event focusing on doctoral and master's programs and graduate student research. This program is open to all University of Michigan College of Engineering current undergraduate and graduate students, as well as prospective graduate engineering students from other institutions. As a session chair, I am responsible for finding judges, organizing abstract submissions, and helping day of the event.

    Ladies Lunch Coordinator (2015-2016)

    Myself and PhD Candidate, Mary Morris, organize and host a monthly luncheon for female graduate/undergraduate students and postdocs. Each meeting has a guest speaker providing their own point of view, answering or posing questions to the group. This event has been popular within our CLaSP department and we are reaching out to female students in other departments. Our goal is to have a place where our members can have open and frank discussions about current issues and build a sense of community within our department.

    Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), Graduate chapter at University of Michigan - Board Member (2015-2016)

    As a member of the board for SHPE-Grad, I help organize and volunteer for events held throughout the academic year and into the summer. These events include professional development, opportunities to volunteer within the community, outreach with local K-12 schools, and social activities.

    UMichigan College of Engineering Department Visit Weekend Committee - Outreach Committee Member (2015)

    As a part of the Outreach committee, I helped develop a Facebook page where visiting students could ask questions about Michigan and current College of Engineering graduate students could provide answers/advice. The site was also meant to be a place where students could connect with other prospective students and current graudte students.

    Graduate Mentor Program (2015)

    I participated in the UMichigan College of Engineering's graduate mentor program aimed at undergraduate students interested in applying for graduate school.

    AMS Student Conference Planning Committee - Member and Session Chair (2013-2016)

    Students from various universities, both in the US and abroad, work together to organize and plan the Annual AMS Student Conference. We nominate and contact potential speakers that will engage, motivate, and give valuable career advice to young scientists. 2015 - Shaping your Future: How to Succeed in Grad School, Speakers: Melissa A.     CSU Graduate Student Council - Department of Atmospheric Science Representative (2013-2014)

    As a Student Representative, I serve as a liason between the faculty and the ATS student body. I attend faculty meetings, organize activities during the Welcome Picnic for incoming students, and tape colloquia and defenses.

    CSU AAAR Student Chapter - Secretary (2013-2014)

    AAAR is an active student organizations led by graduate students in the Atmospheric Science Department. Our goal is to provide young scientists opportunities to network with fellow aerosol scientists, share and discuss ongoing research, and participate in a variety of outreach activities.     Community Involvement

      Spanish conversation group leader

      I lead the Spanish advanced conversation group at the Boulder Public Library once a month. We meet three times a month for an hour and a half and discuss topics such as, art, literature, music, politics, philosophy, and personal goals.

      Library volunteer

      I volunteer twice a month to the Drop-in Tech program at the Boulder Public library. We provide basic technology help for library patrons for free.
