England

Scotland

During the summer of 1999, Alan and I visited London, England.  Using London as our "home base" we visited parts of England and Scotland.

Flying British Airways, we flew nonstop from Washington Dulles Airport to to London's Heathrow Airport.

We left Tuesday evening, August 10, and arrived in London on Wednesday morning around 9 a.m.  Our trip ended on Wednesday morning, August 18, when we flew home from London.

Using Donald Olson's The Complete Idiot's Travel Guide to London and advise from family and friends, we successfully navigated the "tube," ate delicious traditional English food, and took three full day tours out of London.

The weather was great...high 68 degrees and only a few rain showers, which was a nice break from the heat wave in Richmond.
