1737 Isaac Ivins and Mary Hopkinson declared, on 3 of month 8, at the Burlington, New Jersey meeting, their intention to marry. [1]

1737 Isaac Ivins and Mary Hopkinson declared, on 3 of month 9, at the Burlington, New Jersey meeting, their intention to marry. At the last meeting, the young man had produced a certificate from the Chesterfield meeting. They were clear to marry. [2]

1737 Mary Hopkins, daughter of Edward Hopkins deceased, married Isaac Ivins [Ivens] Jr, son of Isaac Ivins of Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, on 23rd day, 9th month. The marriage was witnessed by Isaac Ivins, Thomas Ivins, George Hopkins, Joseph Ivins, Sarah Ivins, Charles French, William Hopkins, Joseph Hopkins, Mary Bunton, Johnannah Sykes, Jane Antrum, Elizabeth Groome, Sarah Page, Abigail Page, Christian Page, Hannah Bunton, Charity Page, Margarett Williams, Richard French, John Syke, John Black, John Page, William French, Samuel Bunting, Isaac Antrum, John Middleton Jr, Thomas Scattergood, Edward Page, John Page, Jonathan Barton, Thomas Bovis, Benjamin Busson, and John Scholy. Research Notes:

1669 Edward Hopkins, son of Edward Hopkins and Ann Hopkins, was baptized on December 14, 1669 in Christ Church, Barbados. [4]

1737 We suspect that the 1737 marriage witnesses George, William, and Joseph Hopkins, named above, were brothers of Mary Hopkins. George was named as Hopkinson in some documents.

1663-1667 Children were born to Mathew Hopkinson and were registered at the Chesterfield [Quaker] Meeting in Derbyshire, England. [5]

1745 Joseph Hopkins married Ann Shippey in Burlington. [6]

1776 The will of Jonathan Chesshire named the children of Joseph Hopkins, who was married to Jonathan's cousin, Ann. [7]

1779 Ann Hopkins, wife of Joseph Hopkins was disowned for non-attendance by the Chesterfield meeting. Dated June 3. [8] [9]

1781 Edward Hopkins was listed as a private in the militia of Revolutionary Monmouth County and signed the petition against association for retalliation in December [10] . Also listed were Isaiah, Joseph, Moses, and Sarah Hopkins. Could these be Edward's children? [11]

1802 Joseph Hopkins, farmer of New Hanover Twp, Burlington County, and his wife Rebecca, sold land to Israel Ivins, merchant. Dated March 12. [12]

Edward Hopkins was listed as a private in Old Monmouth County in General Stryker's reports. [13] [14]
