Notes for Sarah Elizabeth Chipman

1808 Sarah Eliza, daughter of Daniel Chipman, was born on April 3. [1]

1825 Andrew Mossman and Eliza Chipman were married on June 11 in Annapolis, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia. [2]

1825 December 3 "An indenture foreclosing on the property of Andrew Mossman the younger, 'merchant' of Annapolis, was drawn up by Peleg Wiswall on 3 December 1825 (Annapolis County Registry of Deeds, Book 24, 403). The property, in the town of Annapolis, was duly advertised in the Royal Gazette and sold at public auction on 1 March 1826. The land was near the garrison at Annapolis." "Will you be so good as to tell Judge Wiswall that I have no other papers from Halifax in Mossman v. Mossman than what I sent him …" [3]

1827 Son George Lansdale Mossman was born on March 16 in Annapolis, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia. [4]

1830 Andrew Mossman died on the ship Pilgim en route from Bermuda to St. Andrews on May 4. The Saint John City Gazette reported his death on May 19, 1830, "d. 4th, on board brig 'Pilgrim' on passage from Bermuda to St. Andrews, Mr. Mossman, Esq., Annapolis, N.S.; remains were committed to bosom of the deep." [5] His death was reported on May 22, 1830, in the Acadian Recorder, "On the 4th inst. on board the brig Pilgrim on her passage from Bermuda to St. Andrews — Mossman, Esq. of Annapolis, N S." [6]

1830 Widow Eliza Mossman and her uncle George Chipman, administrators of the estate of Eliza's husband Andrew Mossman, published a notice in the Halifax Arcadian Recorder on July 3. [7]

All persons having legal demands against the estate of the late Andrew Mossman, jun. merchant, of Annapolis, deceased, are requested to present the same immediately, duly attested; and all persons indebted to said estate, are requested to make immediate payment to

1831 Widow Eliza Mossman and her uncle George Chipman, administrators of the estate of Eliza's husband Andrew Mossman, published a notice in the Halifax Arcadian Recorder on October 1, 15, and 29, November 5 and 26, and December 10 and 31. [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14]

1832 Charles Andrew Mossman was baptized on March 7 in the parish of Annapolis in Annapolis county by "J.L. Twiningham, Officiating Minister." Charles Andrew was the son of "Andrew and Eliza Mossman, abode Annapolis, quality, trade, or profession merchant." [15]
