1849 Jesse Scoggins and Mary M Cochram (perhaps a daughter of Henry) were married in Rutherford County, North Carolina. H. Deator Cocherhan was bondsman, dated October 15. [1] [2]

1850 The heirs of William Cochran, deceased, of Rutherford County, North Carolina, appointed Thomas Nelan, of the County of Murry, Georgia, with power of attorney to recover debts due to the estate, dated November 16. The heirs named were Obadiah Cochran, H D Cochran, J. K. Nelon and wife Nancy, Jesse Scoggins and wife Mary, Misy M Cochran, and Martha L Cochran, all heirs at law of Wm Cochran. Charles Cochran was also named later in the document. [3]

1860 Mary Scoggin (age 38) lived in Mountain Creek, Rutherford County, North Carolina, in a household with Jessee Scoggin (age 36) and Louisa Scoggin (age 3). [4]

1870 Jessie Scoggin (age 47, born in North Carolina) lived in Morgan, Rutherford County, North Carolina, in a household with Mary N Scoggin (age 47), Mary L Scoggin (age 13), Theodocia Scoggin (age 9), Matilda Scoggin (age 7), Martha Haynes (age 42), Joshua Williams (age 9), and Jonathan H Williams (age 3). Jessie Scoggin was a farmer. [5]

1872 The estate sale of Henry Cochran listed items purchased by Obediah Cockeram, H.L. Cockeram, Lawson Cochran, A Rucker, Widow, and Jesse Scoggins. Martin Walkins administrator. [6] [7] [8] [9]

1880 Daughter Mary M. Scoggins (age 57, born in North Carolina, married), wife, lived in Morgan, Rutherford County, North Carolina, in a household with Jessie Scoggins (age 57), Theodocia E. Scoggins (age 19), and Matilda Scoggins (age 15). Mary M. Scoggins's parents were both born in North Carolina. Mary M. Scoggins's occupation was keeping house. [10]

1882 Matilda Scoggin, age 18, and Noah Bland were married on September 19 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. [11]

1900 Jesse Scoggins (born in North Carolina in Aug 1822, married for 5 years) lived in Morgan, Rutherford County, North Carolina, in a household with Louisa Scoggins (age 37), and Caroline Nix (age 67). Jesse Scoggins's parents were both born in North Carolina. Jesse Scoggins was a farmer. [12]

Mr. and Mrs's. N. J. Bland were called to the bedside of their sick father Mr. Jesse Scoggins, Friday morning. They have our deepest sympathy.

Mr. Jesse Scoggin died on the first day of August and his body was laid to rest in the family grave yard near the old homestead. He was a very aged man and had been sick nearly all summer.

1933 Matilda Bland, spouse of N J Bland, died on November 14, at age 69, in Foris City, Rutherford County, North Carolina. She was born on December 7, 1863, in Rutherford, North Carolina, United States, daughter of Jessie Scoggins and Mary Cotherman. [15]

1933 Matilda Catherine Scoggins Bland died on November 14 and was buried at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, Rutherford County, North Carolina. Matilda Catherine Scoggins Bland was born on December 7, 1863, daughter of Jessie Scoggins and Mary M. Cockran [16]

1943 Theodossie Scoggins Robertson died on November 9, at age 82, in Rutherford, Rutherford County, North Carolina. She was born on May 1, 1861, in Rutherford, North Carolina, United States, daughter of Jossie Scoggins and Mary Cochran. She had lived at Rutherford, North Carolina. [18]
