We do not how, or if, James David might be related to Nancy Cochran Pickett. These notes are included here to give access and to allow Ancestry.com to identify possible DNA matches with Robert.

1831 David Cockerham and Nancy Allen got a marriage license in Rutherford County, North Carolina on November 24 with payment by David Cockerham and Sanders Allen. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] This is another potential sibling of Nancy Cochran. Note that Mary May Cockrum and Charles Benson Allen also moved to Jefferson County, Illinois. Perhaps David Cockerham and James David Cochran, named in documents below, refer to the same person.

1850 David Cockrane (age 39, born in North Carolina) lived in District 10, Jefferson County, Illinois, in a household with Nancy Cockrane (age 45), Sophia C Cockrane (age 17), Mary M Cockrane (age 15), Martha M Cockrane (age 13), Thomas S Cockrane (age 11), Sarah C Cockrane (age 9), Mira E Cockrane (age 7), Nancy J Cockrane (age 5), and David Cockrane (age 3). David Cockrane was a farmer. [8]

1851 Sophia C Cockram and James Johnson were married on March 27 in Jefferson County, Illinois. [9]

1853 David Cochran was granted a patent for land in Jefferson County, Illinois. [12]

1856 D Cockram sold land in Jefferson County, Illinois to Sopha C Johnston on January 26. Recorded June 12, 1858. [13]

1856 David Cockram purchased land in Jefferson County, Illinois from Levi Watson on October 6. [14]

1856 David Cochran was asignee for Angus M. Grant for a court case involving the heirs of George Johnston. [15]

1858-59 Andrew Adams and daughter Sarah were married in 1858. Andrew married again in 1859 soon after Sarah's death.

1858 Sarah E. Cockrum and Andrew W. Adams were married on April 4 in Jefferson County, Illinois. [16] [17]

1859 Sarah Ellen Cochran Adams was buried at Knowles Cemetery, Bonnie, Jefferson County, Illinois. Sarah Ellen Cochran Adams was born in 1841. [18] [19]

1859 Andrew W. Adams and Mary McReynolds were married in 1859 in Jefferson County, Illinois. [20]

1858 James David Cochran died on November 14 and was buried at Knowles Cemetery, Bonnie, Jefferson County, Illinois. James David Cochran was born in 1808. [21] [22]

1860 Nancy Cockram (age 56, born in North Carolina) lived in Township 4 S Range 3 E, Jefferson County, Illinois, in a household with Nancy J Cockram (age 16), and Rush Cockram (age 14). Nancy Cockram was a farmer. [23]

1860 Nancy Cockrum was listed on the agricultural census for township 4 S Range 3 E, Jefferson County, Illinois at the Spring Garden post office. [24]
