1943 Martha Louise Cochran Price (spouse of Sam Price) died on February 22 and was buried at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Saluda, Polk County, North Carolina. Martha Louise Cochran Price was born on February 28, 1852. An obituary reports that she was a daughter of Jeptha Cochran of Polk County and that she had sisters (more likely daughters, sisters was perhaps an error) Mrs. Ellen Thompson, Mrs. Dora Bradley, Mrs Susan Bradley, and Mrs. Katherine Pettit. TRYON, N. C. - Mrs. Susan P. Bradley, of 147 Vineyard Road, died Sunday at 6:05 a.m. at St. Luke's Hospital after four weeks of illness.

Native of Polk County, daughter of the late Sam and Martha Cochran Prince, she was widow of the late William Bradley. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Carl Gosnell of Hendersonville, Mrs. Cauley Reece of Easley, Mrs. Rush Bostic of Chester, Pa., Mrs. Harvey Searcy of Tryon, Mrs. Earl Schewene of Hebron, Ky., and Mrs. Jeanette Rosnell of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sons, Milo Bradley of Gastonia, William and Tolbert Bradley of Tryon; a sister, Mrs. Katherine Petty of Greensboro, N. C; and 32 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.

1861 William Price enlisted in Company K, 16th infantry of the Confederate Army on April 20, 1861 in Polk County. He was born in Polk County, North Carolina. He died of disease in Virginia and mustered out on October 12, 1861. [33]
