1837 Mary, deceased daughter of Isaac Thorn, was named in Isaac's will as the mother of James Wooley. [1] [2]

Research Notes:

Some researchers have named Samuel Wooley as a spouse of Mary Thorn. Mary's son James had surname Wooley. Mary's brother Isaac married the sister of Samuel Wooley. James Wooley (born 1805) was listed near Samuel Wooley in the 1840 census. We seek evidence to clarify this potential relationship.

1830 Samuel Worley lived in Nottingham Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey in a household with males: 1 (10 thru 14), 1 (15 thru 19), 1 (20 thru 29), and 1 (60 thru 69); and females: 1 (15 thru 19) and 1 (40 thru 49). [3]

1840 Samuel Woolley lived in Nottingham Twp, Mercer County, New Jersey in a household with males: 1 (under 5), 1 (5 thru 9), 1 (10 thru 14), 1 (40 thru 49), and 1 (70 thru 79); and females: 1 (under 5), 3 (15 thru 19), 2 (20 thru 29), and 1 (40 thru 49). [4]

1840 James Woolley lived in Nottingham Twp, Mercer County, New Jersey in a household with males: 2 (5 thru 9) and 1 (30 thru 39); and females: 1 (under 5), 1 (10 thru 14), and 1 (30 thru 39). [5]

1850 James Wolley (age 45, born in New Jersey) lived in Nottingham Twp, Mercer County, New Jersey, in a household with Ellen Wolley (age 44), Emma Wolley (age 20), Collins Wolley (age 17), Thomas Wolley (age 15), Sarah Wolley (age 12), Henry Wolley (age 9), and Edmund Wolley (age 5). James Wolley was a oak cooper. [6]

1860 James R Wooley (age 55, born in New Jersey) lived in Trenton Ward 6, Mercer County, New Jersey, in a household with Ellen Wooley (age 54), Collins A Wooley (age 28), Thomas A Wooley (age 24), Sarah D Wooley (age 21), James H Wooley (age 18), and Lydia Vanderver (age 20). James R Wooley was a cooper. [7]

1880 James R. Wooley (age 75, born in New Jersey, married) lived in Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey, in a household with Eleanor Wooley (age 74), Sarah Wooley (age 35), J.Henry Wooley (age 33), Edmund Wooley (age 30), Anna Wooley (age 29), Edmund Wooley (age 9), and Lillian Wooley (age 7). James R. Wooley's parents were both born in New Jersey. [8]

1889 Eleanor Wooley died on June 18 and was buried at Riverview Cemetery, Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey. Eleanor Wooley, widow of James R Wooley, was born in 1805. [9] [10]
