The date of birth, 1826, implied by these remaining census entries show that this Joseph is a different person.

1860 Joseph A Brenizer (age 34, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Harrisburg Ward 4, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, at post office Harrisburg, with Jane Brenizer (age 25), and Elizabeth Edward (age 58). [2]

1862 Joseph A Brenizer, perhaps not this one, enlisted as a Private in Company B, 1st Militia Regiment Pennsylvania on 11 Sep 1862 under Col Henry McCormick in Dauphin County. He mustered out Company B, 1st Militia Regiment Pennsylvania on 25 Sep 1862 at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. [3]

1870 Joseph Branizer (age 44, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Harrisburg Ward 4, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, at post office Harrisburg, with Jane Braniger (age 41), Grace Braniger (age 9), and Charles Braniger (age 5). [4]
