1767 Jacob Geist, child of George Geist and Susanna Geist, was baptized on August 30, 1767, in Bethany United Church of Christ, Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [1] Jacob Geist was born on August 11, 1767, in Pennsylvania. [2] Jacob was a son of George Geist and Susannah Wolfe. [3]

Jacob Geist married Mary Gallagher. [4]

1820 Jacob Guist was granted a land patent for 182 acres in section 18, township 12, range 11 in Ohio. [5]

1820 George Guist and Elizabeth Lynch were married on December 2 in Muskingum County, Ohio. [6]

1825 Jacob Grist gave land to George Grist. [7]

1831 The will of Jacob Geist, of Meigs Twp, Muskingum County, Ohio, was dated August 8, 1831. The will was proved on November 14, 1831. The will named wife Mary, daughter Mary, sons George, John, daughter Susan. "I do order that their shall be one fourth of an acre of land where my daughter Mary is being shall be kept up as a graveyard". John and Susan did not yet have heirs. If John died without heirs, then his share was to be divided among the grandchildren. George Geist and Jeremiah Argo were named executors. [17]

1850 John C Guist (age 47, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Meigs Twp, Muskingum County, Ohio in a household with Catharine Guist (age 46), Julia Devone (age 17), and Michal Harman (age 12). [23]

1850 George Guist (age 54, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Salt Lick Twp, Perry County, Ohio, in a household with Jacob Guist (age 25), Andy Guist (age 21), Elizabeth Guist (age 18), Bradford Guist (age 18), Peter Guist (age 16), John Guist (age 13), Clesson Guist (age 11), and Isiah Guist (age 8).
