1818 Elizabeth, spouse of Pleasant Cockerham, was named as a daughter in the will of John Williams in Surry County, North Carolina. [1]
1850 Pleasant Cockram (age 59) lived in Hotel, Surry County, North Carolina, in a household with Elizabeth Cockram (age 53), Mary Cockram (age 20), Sally Cockram (age 17), Telitha Cockram (age 15), and H P Cockram (age 12). Pleasant Cockram was a farmer. [2]
1852 Pleasant B Cockerham of Surry County dated his will on February 14. The will named wife Elizabeth, who was to inherit negro girls named Gin and Hannah. The will named son Harden, son John, son David, and four youngest children Mary, Sally, Litha, and Henderson Cockerham. Son David and Pleasant C Cockerham (jr?) were named executors. 1854 Pleasant Burch Cockerham died on June 10 and was buried at Cockerham Family Graveyard, Zephyr, Surry County, North Carolina. Pleasant Burch Cockerham was born on May 29, 1791. [6] [7]
1857 Elizabeth Williams Cockerham died on February 20 and was buried at Cockerham Family Graveyard, Zephyr, Surry County, North Carolina. Elizabeth Williams Cockerham was born on December 17, 1798. [8] [9]
1858 Daniel Cockerham, surviving administrator, had offered the court a paper purporting to be the will of David Cockerham. The will was disputed by John Cockerham and a citation was issued to the following. The list has lists of heirs of deceased heirs embedded, but the punctuation does not clearly clarify which are sublists. [10] [11]
