Notes for Emanuel Rudisill

1850 Manuel Rudisill (age 40, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Washington Twp, Allen County, Indiana, in a household with Susan Rudisill (age 39), Jacob Rudisill (age 4), Christian Rudisill (age 42), and Mary Blessing (age 16). [1]

1860 Emanuel Rudisill (age 47, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Washington, Allen County, Indiana, in a household with Susan Rudisill (age 49), Jacob Rudisill (age 13), Clarinda Streper (age 11), Christian Rudisill (age 50), and Christian Kreidler (age 19). Emanuel Rudisill's occupation was farmer. [2]

1877 Susanna Rudisill, wife of E. Rudisill, died on February 9, 1877, at age 66y 10m, and was buried at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana. [3]

1880 The will of Emanuel Rudisill was dated on February 27, in Allen County, Indiana. The will named son Jacob, who inherited real estate in Allen County. Proceeds from the sale of other land was to be distributed to the children of the first wife of brother-in-law John Jones, now residing in Peru, Illinois; my brother Adam Rudisill; niece Joanna Holmes [who inherited the coooking stove, so likely living nearby]; the city hospital at Fort Wayne; the English Evangelical Lutheran Church at Fort Wayne. Jacob R Bittinger of Allen County was named executor. Subscribed and sworn on April 10, 1880. [4]

1880 Emanuel Rudisill died on April 5, 1880 and was buried at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana. No grave marker photo is shown at the memorial. [5]

1918 The Fort Wayne News and Sentinel newspaper reported, in a story about the English Evangelical Lutheran Church. that: "Among the seventeen charter members … They were recorded as follows: Henry Rudisill, Elizabeth Rudisill, Emanuel Rudisill, Susanna Rudisill, Henry J Rudisill, Sarah Rudisill, Adam Rudisill … The first church council consisted of Samuel Cutshall and Emanuel Rudisill, elders: Charles Rush and Henry Rudisill, deacons." [6]

1922 Jacob Rudisill, son of Emanuel Rudisill and Susie Rudisill, spouse of Sarah Rudisill, died on March 21, 1922, at age 72, in Washington Twp, Allen County, Indiana. Jacob Rudisill was born on August 22, 1847, in Indiana. [7]
