Surviving are the widow Lillian, a son Joseph D. San Francisco, CA, a daughter Rose Mary and 8 grandchildren. A brother and two sisters also survive in Washta. Born at Kingsley, Mr. Ritts moved to Washta as a child where he attended schools. In 1923 he married Lillian Dempsey in Sioux City and they established a home in San Bernadino, CA.
