Our active research focus is Nancy Cochran, wife of Isaiah Pickett [1]. Isaiah, son of Micajah Pickett, eloped with Nancy. Nancy's parents are not known. These are notes for descendants of William R. Cochran, who was likely related to Nancy Cochran based on DNA evidence.

1820 William R. Cochran was born on March 8 in South Carolina. [2] [3]

1849 William Cochran moved to Georgia, based on his voter registration in 1867.

1849 William Cochran and Emaline Watson were married on August 29 in DeKalb County, Georgia. They got a marriage license, dated August 23, in Gwinnett County, Georgia. [4]

1850 William Cockram (age 25, born in South Carolina) lived in Lost Twp, Cobb County, Georgia, in a household with Emily Cockram (age 25, born in South Carolina). [5] [6]

1857 Milton County, Georgia was formed from Cobb, Cherokee, and Forsyth Counties. William Cochran lived in Cropville, Milton County, Georgia, based on his voter registration in 1867.

1860 William R Cochran of Milton County sold land to Isaac M. Berry of Cobb County on November 19. The lot was 326 of District 1, section 2, originally Cherokee County, then Cobb, now Milton County. [7]

1860 William R Cochran (age 38, born in North Carolina) lived in Milton County, Georgia, in a household with Emeline Cochran (age 34, born in South Carolina), H E Cochran (female, age 9), William Cochran (male, age 7), Jane Cochran (female, age 6), E Cochran (female, age 4), A Cochran (female, age 2), and Ester C Watson (age 63). 1867 William R Cochran was a registered voter in Milton County, Georgia. He had lived in Georgia for 17 years and in the county for 9 years. [9]

1867 William R. Cochran purchased land from Allen Whitley, both of Milton County, Georgia on August 12. Tracts 308 (40 acres) and 258 (40 acres) were in District 1, Section 2, Cherokee (now MIlton) County, Georgia. [10]

1870 William Cochran (age 45, born in Georgia) lived in Milton County, Georgia, in a household with Emeline Cochran (age 44), William P Cochran (age 18), Nancy Cochran (age 16), Anodine Cochran (age 14), Elzabeth Cochran (age 11), John L Cochran (age 8), Arie M Cochran (age 5), Mary A Cochran (age 2), and Martha A C Cochran (age 2). William Cochran's occupation was farmer. [11]

1882 Wm R Cochran of Milton County purchased lots 248 and 249 in Cherokee now Milton County from V.A. Garrison of Hall County. [12]

1877 Daughter Elizabeth Cochran and R E Glover were married on August 9 in Milton County, Georgia. [33]

1880 William Cochran (age 56, born in South Carolina, married) lived in Crossville Twp, Milton County, Georgia, in a household with Emaline Cochran (age 55), Johnathan Cochran (age 18), Ary M. Cochran (age 16), and twins Mary A. Cochran (age 12) and Martha A. Cochran (age 12). William Cochran's parents were both born in South Carolina. William Cochran's occupation was farmer. [34]

1884 Daughter Mary Cochran and R D Watkins were married on October 5 at Milton County, Georgia. [35]

1885 Emaline Watson Cochran died in 1885 and a memorial stone notes her burial at Glover Cemetery, Roswell, Fulton County [formerly Cobb County], Georgia. Emaline Watson Cochran was reportedly born in 1830. The Findagrave memorial reported that Emaline Watson Cochran was born at South Carolina. [36] [37] [38]

1888 W.R. Cochran purchased lot 306 in Milton County 40 acres of land. The land had been owned by of W.F. Davis and was sold by the sheriff on April 3. [39]

1895 W. R Cochran purchased lot 307, of 40 acres, from R. D. Watkins [son-in-law] on December 12. Adjacent were lands of W. R. Cochran and Archibal Smith. [40]

1895 W. R. Cochran sold lot 307, of 40 acres, to Randle D. Watkins on September 22. [41]

1895 Wm Cochran sold lot 326, of 40 acres, to Isaac M Berry on September 22. [42]

1896 Mary Watkins, wife of R.D. Watkins, died on January 14, 1896 (aged 28) and was buried at Glover Cemetery, Roswell, Fulton County, Georgia. Mary Watkins was born on October 8, 1867. The Findagrave memorial reported that Mary Watkins died at Fulton County, Georgia. [43] [44]

1898 W. R. Cochran died on January 9, 1898 and was buried at Glover Cemetery, Roswell, Fulton County, Georgia. William R. Cochran was born on March 8, 1820. [45] [46] Another record reports his death on January 10, 1899 at 204 Hunter Street, Roswell, Georgia. [47] [48]

1899 J.S. Pruett was named as administrator of the estate of W. R. Cochran. [49] Pruett petitioned to be dismissed, and was dismissed as administrator. [50]

1900 John S. Pruitt, administrator of the estate of William R. Cochran, sold land from the estate to T. L. Lewis. The land was from lots 258, 306, 307, 308.

1926 Randall Dozier Watkins died on July 29 and was buried at Rest Haven Cemetery, Fulton County, Georgia. Randall Dozier Watkins was born on October 1, 1864. [52] [53]

1932 Martha Sharp Reeves, daughter of W. R. Cochran and E. Watson, died on January 3, 1932 in Fulton County, Georgia. She was born on October 8, 1866 in Georgia. She was buried at the Cochran family cemetery in Roswell, Georgia. [54] [55] [56]

1933 Ellen Cochran Sherman, daughter of William Cochran and Emmaline Watson, died on February 14, 1933 in Atlanta Twp, Fulton County, Georgia. Ellen Cochran Sherman was born on November 12, 1850, in Roswell, Georgia. [57] [58] [59] See also: [60] [61]

1936 Elizabeth Emiline Glover, daughter of William R Cochram and Elizabeth Watson, died on February 16, 1936 in Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia. Elizabeth Emiline Glover was born on April 12, 1856. [62] [63] [64]

1936 Arie Elizabeth Cochran Whitley died on July 28 and was buried at Cool Springs Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Ashville, St. Clair County, Alabama. Arie Elizabeth Cochran Whitley was born on December 12, 1864. [84] [85]
