Research Notes:

Some researchers have named Andrew Smith as the father of Sarah, wife of George Parker. We seek evidence to clarify this possible relationship.

1678 Andrew Smith, and others, signed a letter related to a land dispute with Peter Jegou, Native Americans on Mattinnaconcke (Mattinnicum) Island. Dated December 5. [1]

1680 Andrew Smith was listed as a freeholder and inhabitant of Burlington, New Jersey. [2]

1680 Burlington meeting records: "Elizabeth, daughter of Andrew & Olive Smith was born ye Leventh of ye second month in ye year 1680." [3]

1686 "Samuel Sikes and Thomas Gilbathorpe have spoke to Andrew Smith and found his nessesity prety greats, care is taken for his assistance untill the next meeting." Dated on 1 of month 5, at the Chesterfield meeting. [4]

1687 … "agreed that Andrew Smith have a coat given him William Watson to take ye care for providing cloth buttons and thred and to be payd by this meeting." Dated on 1 of month 10, at the Chesterfield meeting. [5]

1690 Thomas Lambert of Nottingham, W. J., tanner, to Andrew Smith, late of the Falls of Delaware, husbandman, for 50 acres to be surveyed in the Yorkshire Tenth. Deed dated May 1. [6]

1699 The West Jersey Society, by their agent Thomas Revell, to Thomas Smith, son of Andrew Smith, of Burlington County, for 300 acres of the Society's 30,000 acre tract above the Falls of Delaware. Deed dated February 25, 1698/99. [7]

1699 Andrew Smith registerd the marking for his livestock at the Burlington Court. [8]

1703 The children of Andrew Smith of Hopewell Twp, Burlington County, were named as Thomas, Andrew, Elizabeth, Mary, and Hannah, on a list dated February 28, 1702/03. [9]
