Notes for Mead Freeman

1867 On August 7, Thomas Freeman, Mead Freeman, and Sanford Freeman, signed the oath of loyalty and registered to vote. Their records are recorded in adjacent records in the oath book. They each resided in Election District 923 of Floyd County, Georgia. [1] [2] [3]

1870 On September 5, Mead Freeman (age 65) and Elizabeth Freeman (age 50) lived in Texas Valley, Floyd County, Georgia, with Sandford Freeman (age 30), Wesley Freeman (age 23), Caswell Freeman (age 26), Emma Freeman (age 14), Biddy M Freeman (age 12), Angiline Freeman (age 10), and Hilyer Freeman (age 6). All were born in Georgia. Mead Freeman was a farmer. [4] Thomas and Henrietta Freeman and their children lived in the adjacent household in the census listing. John R. Freeman and his family lived in the same district. [5]

1871 Mead Freeman and Thomas Freeman purchased land together on October 9, "one half of lot no. 4 (80 acres in Floyd County's district 15, section 4) from G.B. Gentry for $130." [6]

1880 On June 14, Meade Freeman (age 88) and his wife Lizzie Freeman (age 66) lived in Flat Woods, Floyd County, Georgia, in a household with grandaughter Angeline Freeman (age 21), grandson Hellyer Freeman (age 17), daughter-in-law Lydia Freeman (age 25), and nieces Jessie Freeman (age 9), Lila Freeman (age 7), and Hattie Freeman (age 3). All members of the household and their parents were born in Georgia. Meade was ill with gout. [7]
