We are researching Katherine Wolf, daughter of Reuben Wolf.
Kate Iris Wolff, daughter of George Washington Wolf, whose notes are below, is a different person. The birthplace (Virginia) reported below in the census records for Katherine's mother do not agree with records for the spouse of Reuben Wolf. The marriage in Mercer County, Illinois is a good match for a daughter of Reuben Wolf. We seek evidence of a potential relationship between these two Wolf lines.
1850 Washington Wolf (age 33, born in Ohio) lived in Township 14 N R 5 W, Mercer County, Illinois, in a household with Rebecca Wolf (age 33), Mary Ellen Wolf (age 10), Thomas Wolf (age 8), George W Wolf (age 6), Lydia A Wolf (age 4), and Jacob Wolf (age 2). Washington Wolf was a farmer. [1]
1860 Kate Iris Wolff (age 6, born in Illinois) lived in Township 13 N 5 W, Mercer County, Illinois, in a household with Washington Wolff (age 44), Rebecca Wolff (age 43), Mary E Wolff (age 20), Thomas Wolff (age 18), George Wolff (age 16), Lydia Wolff (age 16), Jacob Wolff (age 12), Richard Wolff (age 8), and James Bloomer (age 22). 1876 Kate I Wolff and Uriel [sic] A Scott were married on January 12 in Mercer County, Illinois. [3]
1880 Kate Scott (age 25, born in Illinois, married), wife, lived in Platte Twp, Taylor County, Iowa, in a household with Vice A. Scott (age 27), Stella Scott (age 3), and Orr Scott (age 2). Kate Scott's father was born in Ohio and her mother was born in Virginia. [4]
1880 Wash Wolf (age 63, born in Ohio, married) lived in Aledo, Mercer County, Illinois, in a household with Rebecca Wolf (age 63), Mary Wolf (age 39), Jacob Wolf (age 32), and Richard Wolf (age 26). Wash Wolf's father was born in Maryland and his mother was born in North Carolina. Wash Wolf was a farmer. [5]
1895 Washington Wolfe died on July 26 and was buried at Keithsburg Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg, Mercer County, Illinois. Washington Wolfe was born on July 22, 1816. [6] [7]
1910 Kate I Scott (age 55, born in Illinois, widowed) lived in Denver Ward 9, Denver County, Colorado, in a household with Stella N Beecher (age 33), and William Smith (age 38). Kate I Scott's father was born in Ohio and her mother was born in Virginia. Kate I Scott could read and write. Kate I Scott's occupation was own income. [8]
1911 Stella V Beecher, age 35, and Benjamin L Trapp were married on July 10. Stella V Beecher was a daughter of Viret A Scott and Kate I Welf. [9]
1934 Kate Iris Scott died on November 17, 1934 and was buried at Fairmount Cemetery, Denver, Denver County, Colorado. Kate Iris Scott was born on December 12, 1856. Viret A Scott (Feb 27, 1860 - Apr 27 1908) was named on the same grave marker. [10] [11]
