We have no evidence that George Michael Wise had a son named George. We suspect this George Wise, who died in 1809 in Mifflin Twp, might be his son because of the choice of both George and Michael as names of sons, because Felix was named executor to his will, and because likely brothers Felix and Abraham were nearby.
1808 Felix Wise (240 acres, perhaps a brother of George), Abraham Wise (carpenter, 26 acres, perhaps a brother of George), George Wise (19 acres), and George Wise (freeman, perhaps a son of George) were taxed in Mifflin Twp, Cumberland County. [1]
1809 George Wise of Mifflin Twp, Cumberland County, wrote his will with a codicil dated February 27, 1809. The will was proved March 23, 1809. The will named 5 children: Catharine Railing wife of Henry Railing, George Wise, Elizabeth Wise, Mary Wise, and Michael Wise. Michael Wise was a minor under age 16. George's real estate was 19 acres in Mifflin Twp. Felix Wise and Yost Ruling were named executors. Witnessed by Johannes ? and Johannes Ruling. [2]
1811 Felix Wise (240 acres, 2 stills, perhaps a brother of George), Abraham Wise (carpenter, 25 acres, perhaps a brother of George), and George Weise (freeman, perhaps a son of George) were taxed in Mifflin Twp, Cumberland County. [3]

some researchers name this George Wise (died 1809) as the father of Michael Wise (1801-1875). Michael married Mary Seipe (1800-1877) and they had child George (1830-1881). [4] [5] [6]

1800 George Wise lived in Mifflin Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 2 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), 1 (16 thru 25), and 1 (26 thru 44); and females: 2 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), and 1 (26 thru 44). [8] Abraham Wise was listed on the next page, perhaps Abraham (1768-1832), son of George Michael Wise.
1810 Abraham Wise lived in Mifflin Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (16 thru 25) and 1 (26 thru 44); and females: 1 (10 thru 15) and 1 (26 thru 44). [9]
1850 Michael Wise (age 43, born in Pennsylvania) lived in North Middleton Twp, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Maria Wise (age 40), George Wise (age 13), and Emma Wise (age 8). [10]
1878 Mary Wise, widow of Michael (perhaps a son of this George Wise), lived in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. [11]
We have gathered notes for several men named George Weise who lived in Cumberland County during this era. We are not certain about some of their parents, and their records might be confused here.

We show George Wise (1776-1857) of North Middleton as a son of Jacob (1745-1830) and Anna Marie Wise of South Middleton, because of the bequest that Jacob Wise of South Middleton made, in his 1824 will, to George Wise of North Middleton.
Deeds dated 1825 and 1839 suggest that George Wise with wife Mary, of West Pennsboro and Mifflin, Cumberland County was related to, perhaps a son of, Felix Wise (1752-1826). Felix had sold the land in the deeds to George Wise and named a (living) son George in his 1826 will.
We have notes for other men named George Wise living in Cumberland County during this era who might be related to this Wise family, but whose parents we have not identified. There are also men named George Wise in our tree for whom we have no notes. We suspect that some of these are matches, but we do not have sufficient information to know or guess which is matched to which.
