Notes for Rebeccah Chipman

Handley Chipman wrote [1]: My dear and dutiful daughter Rebeccah who came down here with me, when her dear Mother and Children Stayed behind to Visit her Parents at the Vineyard, and was dear Lamb here almost twelve months before her dear Mother came down, and the other Children, Said dear Mother Missing of a fall Passage, was forced to Stay untill the Spring, contrary to her Intention, was married to Mr. Samuel Beckwith, Jur. I believe, in August 1766 or 5, was born Novr. 21, 1750, and was Baptized by said Minister Vinal. Died, dear Lamb, the 8 day of May 1778, with the Small Pox, the Natural way, in Comfortable hopes of happiness. She left five Children. A dear daughter to me she was.
