Agnes I de Arderne (1080-1130) was born in Watford Northamptonshire in 1080 and died in 1130. In 1113 she married Rafe de Arderne of Warwickshire (1057 - ?) at Watford in 1113. They had two sons: Alexander de Arderne (1115 - 1165) and Eustace de Arderne (1118-?). She died at Watford in 1130.

Alexander de Arderne (1115 - 1165) was born in Watford, Northamptonshire in 1115 and died at Watford in 1165 aged 50 years. He was married to Agnes II de Arderne (1120 - 1140). They had one son when Alexander was 25 and Agnes (who died in childbirth) was aged 20: Eustace de Arderne, of Watford (1140 - 1199).

Eustace de Watford (1140 - 1199) - also known as Eustace de Arderne. Eustace, was born at Watford in 1140 and was the first of four successive Lords of Watford in Northamptonshire bearing the same name of Eustace. He was the same Eustachius de Arderne who granted Watford church to the Abbey of St. James, at Northampton. This grant was followed by donations to Sulby Abbey by Eustace II, son of Eustace I de Watford. His marriage details are unknown. He had one son when he was 25 : Eustace II de Watford(1165 - 1213).

Eustace II de Watford (1165 - 1213) Eustace II de Arderne, or de Watford, was born at Watford. He was in possession of his father's estate in 1199, when he impleaded William Fitz Adam, his tenant at Watford. He is recorded as paying scutage for one knight's fee in Northamptonshire. Eustace II, was both known as de Arden and de Watford, He was previously recorded in the second and third scutage of Richard I. In 1188 he married Hawysia of Watford (1170-1213). They had three children: Eustace III de Arderne, of Watford (1190 - 1221), John de Arderne, Knight (1191-1238) and Edmund de Watford (1193 - ?) Eustace II died at Arden Hall, Arden, Warwickshire in 1213, when by writ of Nov. 7, the Sheriff of Northampton set out the dower to Eustace's wife, Hawysia, in Watford and Silsworth. The Earl of Chester being security for her not remarrying without license. (Clause Rolls, 1213).

Eustace III de Watford (1190 - 1221) Few details are available of Eustace III de Arderne of Watford. He was heir to Eustace II in 1213. Marriage details: Unknown. He had one son: Eustace IV de Arderne, of Watford (Birth date unknown -1276). He died aged 31.

Sir Eustace IV de Watford (c1216 - 1276) Married Margery of Northamptonshire (1205- ?) in 1225. They had four children: Atheline de Watford (1230 - ?), Sarah de Watford (1232 - ?), Joan de Watford (1235 - ?) and Elena de Watford (1237 - ?). In 1258 and 1265 he was the High Sheriff of Northamptonshire. On his death in 1276 Eustace IV de Arden left his estate (partitioned) to his four daughters.

Joan de Watford (1235 - ?) She married William Parles of Watford (1230 - ?) They had one son: John Parles (1265-?).
